Dr. Satish Rudrappa is an eminent Neurosurgeon in India who has been acclaimed for being part of more than 18,000 Neurosurgical procedures in his thriving career spanning over 28 years. He embarked on the enthralling journey by pursuing M.B.B.S. from Karnataka Medical College, Hubli, in 1990, and from there, he was a part of numerous path-breaking procedures, taking his career to a realm of unwavering success.
He pursued M.Ch (Neurosurgery) at N.I.M.H.A.N.S., where he was awarded the prestigious gold medal and recognized as the “Best Outgoing Student” in the year 1995. Throughout his career, he has successfully been part of numerous surgeries and has pioneered multiple inventions, one of them being Brain and Spine Image-guided procedures in India.
Apart from his achievements in surgeries, Dr. Satish Rudrappa has been acclaimed as one of the great academic scholars in Neurosurgery. He has been part of various National and International conferences where he has graced the occasions with meaningful lectures on Neurosurgery and Spine surgery. Along with his academic achievements, Dr. Satish Rudrappa has also contributed to the development of society. Since 2007, he has been a trustee of an N.G.O. named ‘Sukriya’. Here, he has been a part of a number of brain and spine surgeries for patients hailing from economically weaker sections of society, mainly women and children. Dr. Satish Rudrappa also started the community program “EPIC” – Epilepsy Prevention & Integrated Care, with the aim of increasing awareness, erasing stigma, and providing free treatment to all patients under the clutches of epilepsy. He collaborated with Rotary and a C.S.R. partner and developed a unique “EPILEPSY – Rotary” app for helping patients and catering to their individual needs.
Moreover, he initiated a unique surgical fellowship training program. The aim of the program was to expand skills and abilities and exchange knowledge between the countries of India and Bhutan. As an active Rotarian for the past 15 years, the Rotary International Dist. 3190 honored him as a Distinguished Rotarian in 2013, and he was awarded as one of the Navarathna of Rotary.
